Emma's father was George Ulrich; her mother was Bertha Stock. She was 3rd of 7 siblings: Victor, Ida, Emma, Violet, Harold, Ruthie, Elsie. Emma completed grade 8 in school, which was the normal schooling provided at that time, and then did whatever work she could find (remember it was the 1930's - depression). She married Edward Schultz in 1940. They had 5 children. Emma was a stay-at-home mother (again, the normal) until 1963. With the children grown-up, she began a 23 year career working as a cafeteria worker and cashier. She retired around 1986. She enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble. She passed away in 2005,leaving her husband, 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
